MCT is an abbreviation for medium-chain triglycerides, an easily digestible type of fat. MCT is typically sourced from coconut oil (sometimes called fractionated coconut oil) or palm kernel oil and contains 90% saturated fat. Other oils contain some MCT, including olive oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, and avocado oil.

Olive Oil

Olive oil comes from pressed olives. It’s best known as a healthy, edible oil with a fruity aroma, but it’s also used in aromatherapy as a carrier oil.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is gaining popularity among foodies and advanced home cooks for its rich flavor and beneficial health properties. The pulp of the avocado is pressed to produce this oil, which is high in oleic acid, good fats, and antioxidants. This tasty oil is good for eyes, heart, cholesterol, skin, gums, and inflammation.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the cannabis sativa plant, the same plant that produces CBD and MMJ. Hemp seed oil is arguably the best carrier oil for CBD.

Grapeseed Oil

Beauty products and cooking oil are the most well-known uses for grapeseed oil, a by-product of the process of making wine. It is rich in omega-six fatty acids, vitamin E, and is beneficial for hair and skin. Its flavor is highly neutral.
